We are giving potty training another (and hopefully last) try. We have been working on it for several weeks now. We did take a little break from it for our vacation at the Lake House, as we didn't want to have an accident on those floors or have him spend all his time up there naked. And, that is our general approach -- nudity. Since it's so warm Eli spends all his time at home with no pants on. He rarely even wears a shirt. He has now identified the urge to go, so peeing is no problem. As long as he's not wearing any pants, he never has an accident. But, if we put him in underwear, trunks or shorts, he has accidents. I think it's a combination of possibly thinking any clothes are a diaper and not being able to pull his clothing down in time. Therefore, clothing will be our next hurdle with peeing. He has dry naps, as long as he's pantless, and we'll start trying to go to bed without a diaper once we buy some rubber sheets.
The main hurdle, that we don't seem to be able to make any progress with, is pooping. He has no interest in using the potty. Since we've had some constipation issues in the past, I'm leary of forcing the issue. Our main approach right now, is we are rewarding "trying". We seem to be making baby steps, we'll see. Hopefully, we'll have him generally potty trained by the time Scott goes back to school. Fingers crossed.
Here are some pictures of Eli's nudie adventures in the last few weeks. He has had Dendi time, played outside, eaten his lunch and cuddled his sister-- all without clothes. At least it lends itself to some cute photo ops.
